Where to find us

The Tobias lab is based at Silwood Park (see aerial footage), a Berkshire estate containing a range of habitats from grasslands and lakes to extensive broadleaf forest . This out-of-town campus of Imperial College is home to around 30 faculty, 100 researchers and over 100 masters students (no undergrads). Research at Silwood Park focuses on ecology, evolutionary biology and environmental science, unlike the rest of the Department of Life Sciences at Imperial, which is situated in South Kensington.

How to find us

Silwood Park is located about 25 miles West of Central London, near the village of Sunninghill, Ascot, Berkshire.

By road

Silwood Park is situated on the A329 (Virginia Water to Reading) by its junction with the B383. The main entrance is on the B383 about 300m North of the intersection.

M4 motorway

Leave the motorway at junction 6 and take the A332 South through Windsor to its junction with the B383. Then proceed South to Silwood Park.

M3 motorway

Leave M3 at junction 3 (Bracknell). Take A322 towards Bracknell. After approximately 2 miles get in the right hand lane and take the A332 to Windsor/Ascot. Follow this road until you reach the next roundabout and take the 3rd exit onto the A329 to Ascot. Drive through Ascot high Street and continue along this road until you reach the junction with the B383, where you take a left turn. Silwood Park is immediately on the left.

A30

Travelling away from London on the A30, turn right into the A329 at Virginia Water.

M25 motorway

Leave the motorway at the junction with the A30 and proceed as shown above.

By rail

From Heathrow you can catch a bus to Feltham railway station, where you can pick up a train to Ascot or Sunningdale. There are taxis available at Ascot railway station (cost £5 one way).

If you arrive at Gatwick you can come by train via Clapham Junction or Wokingham, but both routes require changing trains.
